The biggest challenge of photography is drawing a natural smile. My son believes he doesn’t know how to smile but he also insists that smiling with his lips closed is a real smile. His entire argument falls apart when I burp. He cracks up and I get the shot.
That’s my favorite part about lifestyle photography. The perfect picture isn’t about the environment, the lighting, the equipment, the poses, the props; it’s the person, it’s their humanity, their passions, their idiosyncrasies spilling out all over their face. I don’t shoot photos. I shoot people.
